Simple Installation Process

Step 1: Format Your USB Drive

1. Insert your USB flash drive into your Mac.

2. Open Disk Utility (located in Applications → Utilities).

3. Select your USB drive from the sidebar.

4. Click the Erase button in the toolbar.

5. Configure these settings:

  • Name: OCLP (or your preferred name)
  • Format: MS-DOS (FAT)
  • Scheme: GUID Partition Map

6. Click Erase to format the drive.

Note: This will permanently delete all data on the drive.

Step 2: Download OpenCore Legacy Patcher

1. Visit the OpenCore Legacy Patcher GitHub releases page.

3. Open the downloaded disk image.

4. Move the OCLP application to your Applications folder.

Step 7: Reboot and Access OpenCore

2. Immediately press and hold the Option (⌥) key during startup.

3. From the boot selector menu, select the EFI Boot option (displays with an OpenCore icon).

Step 8: Install macOS

1. In the OpenCore boot selector, choose the macOS installer from your USB drive.

2. Follow the standard macOS installation process:

  • Select language preferences.
  • Choose your destination disk (internal drive).
  • Begin the installation.

3. Important notes during installation:

  • The restart may restart multiple times.
  • Each time, boot through OpenCore by holding the Option key at startup.
  • If the installation appears to restart from the beginning, select the incomplete install option from OpenCore’s boot selector.
Step 9: Post-Installation Configuration

1. Once macOS is installed and initial setup is complete, launch OCLP from your Applications folder.

2. Select Post-Install Root Patch:

  • Choose the appropriate patches for your hardware:
  • Graphics acceleration

3. Apply the selected patches by clicking the Start Root Patching button.
